480 Tennessee Baptist students who will receive Foundation scholarships in 2007-2008. The total amount awarded for scholarships this year is also a record high, $233,750. The Trustees and Staff of the Foundation rejoice for the growth of the scholarship program since its inception in 1987 (when only 54 scholarships were awarded in the amount of $12,575). Across these twenty years almost $3.3 million has been awarded as scholarships to Tennessee Baptist students!

Because the number of scholarship applicants is increasing much more rapidly than the number of dollars available to award as scholarships, the foundation’s scholarship committee has made significant modifications to the foundation’s scholarship program. These changes are effective now and will affect those who apply for educational assistance beginning with the 2008-2009 academic year.
