The Tennessee Baptist Foundation is the trust and investment institution of The Tennessee Baptist Convention. It's purpose is to assist Tennessee Baptists, churches and the Convention to lay a strong foundation under those institutions, causes and agencies supported by the churches of The Tennessee Baptist Convention. This purpose is fulfilled as the Foundation assists church members in estate planning that will extend their witness for Christ and thereby help to provide a solid financial foundation for all Baptist causes and to invest funds committed to its care in keeping with the purposes assigned.
The Tennessee Baptist Foundation is a 501(c)3 corporation chartered by the State of Tennessee and directed by a 15-member Board of Trustees elected by The Tennessee Baptist Convention. The Foundation was established in 1938 to help Baptist people conserve all God has given them. In this way they are able to bless the lives of others, as well as their own families. Needy children, deserving young people, home and foreign missionaries have been supported. The message of salvation has been taken to the very ends of the earth because of caring Christians - just like you.
Through the years, thousands of Tennessee Baptists have turned to the Tennessee Baptist Foundation for help in planning their estates. Church members have remembered the needs of their own church, association and other Baptist institutions by placing a portion of their estates in trust to meet many of these needs. Scholarships amounting to more than a million dollars have been awarded to Baptist young people to attend Baptist educational institutions in the state. The Tennessee Baptist Foundation is a ministry whose sole mission is to help Tennessee Baptists carry out the Great Commission.
